Whittenburg ailing but Valvano not concerned
Dereck Whittenburg, NC State’s leading scorer, missed practice with the flu ahead of the NCAA semifinal against Georgia. Coach Jim Valvano said a 10 fever and medication should help, and the Wolfpack hope for a quick recovery as they chase a national title with veterans from the D.C. Connection leading the way.
