Frederick Cadets Face Uncertain Season In Tri State League
Frederick high school previews show a potential contender led by coach Jim Huy with top pitchers Mark Grossnickle and Don Boyd, though injuries and reluctance to pitch cloud their campaign. The lineup features senior Don Wood and juniors Area, with Mike Wood catching and an infield anchored by Boyd and Wood. Field conditions slow prep, opening possible early next week. Walkersville also inventories strong pitching and veteran fielders as it aims to rebound after a narrow loss season, opening next Tuesday against Middletown at uncertain site due to a new field pending approval. Brunswick pivots to pitching speed and defense as head coach Bernard maps a lean, gap-filling attack.
