Maryland General Assembly Adjourns After Local Focus
Maryland lawmakers wrap up the 1924 session with many local measures and economy bills. Governor Ritchie’s university proposal and a tax-rate bill are the key items. Road, bridge repairs for Cumberland and surrounding areas are financed by a 900000 loan, with additional 75000 for street work if needed. Steinmetz predicted people will work only four hours a day a century hence.
