Bonding Issue Debate Draws Dense Crowd in Duncan’s Hall

A Saturday meeting in Duncan’s Hall debated a $6 000 000 road bonding measure set for voters on Monday June 4. Senator S B Huston of Portland and James Benson urged bonds while B Y Roe opposed funding main arteries, favoring rural roads. Ex Governor Bowerman and Frank S Myers defended the plan as needed for safety and development.

Shiloh Post and Shiloh Woman's Relief Corps observe Memorial Sunday May 27 with services at Presbyterian church and Dundee Methodist church, led by Rev. Geo E Lee and Rev. Moore. Memorial Day May 30 includes 9 30 a m march to cemetery with bands, graves deco rated, basket lunch at hall, and a program featuring the High School Girls Glee Invocation and other items.

Last Friday evening during the closing session at Friends church thirty two vehicles were in front of the building. Twenty eight were automobiles and four were horse drawn rigs.
