The executive Committee of the National Reform Association reports rapid interest in the Second World Christian Citizenship Conference to be held in Portland Oregon June 29 to July 6 1913. Simultaneous sectional conferences will address The Family Mormonism Social Purity Intemperance Prison Reform Capital and Labor Immigration and Emigration Peace The Sabbath and Christianity and Public Education. Noted speakers from abroad and from the United States including Woodrow Wilson and Charles W. Fairbanks are listed among fifty or more participants expected.

Stolen Horses Reappear in Hillsboro and Forest Grove Sales
A group of twenty four stolen horses, linked to two men Laidler and Henderson, were traced from Second Street stable in Hillsboro to Forest Grove where they were sold. Purchasers were reimbursed in many cases after inquiries by Agent Carr of the Yakima Indian reservation. An original owner among the Indians identified several animals, with one found in Hillsboro and others reclaimed or sold after restitution.

Not a Concealed Weapon in Kansas Town
The editor of a Kansas paper reports he bought a Winchester rifle and walked to deliver it to its owner. Delinquent subscribers feared a campaign and forced payment from all he met. One man settled ten years of debt. On returning to the office, he found crops and goods left for him, including ten bushels of corn, ten bushels of potatoes, wood, and a barrel of turnips.

Waterway Monopoly Sparks Vallejo Boat Ferry Battle
In Mare Island California workers living in Vallejo banded together forming an Aquatic Club. They bought three motor boats for 10000 dollars and ferried themselves across the bay at a cost of 93 cents a month less than the ferry company charged. The ferry firm obtained an injunction to stop them from using private boats. The incident prompts legislative action to allow private boat rides.
