Mrs. C J Jacobson visited St Johns during the week. The C C Literary Club met and awarded four fifty cent prizes for the top essay on Co operation of the Farmers. Ella Hess won first, Ella Christenson second, Carlos Johnson third, and Victor Hendrickson fourth. Nine essays were submitted and praised overall. A Chorus Class concert with Miss Lillian Perkins featured readings by Miss Perkins. A Christian Endeavor Social is planned for next Saturday evening at Bonny View.

Burglary in New York Reveals Massive Jewel Loss
A Sunday East Side heist in New York City yielded the largest haul in years for Martin Simons & Sons pawnbrokers. Thieves stole about 200000 worth of jewelry and 50000 in negotiable securities via a tunnel from a neighboring building into the vault. The tunnel began in Eldridge street and breached a 12 foot high vault, avoiding wired alarms.
