Veteran Rev T Brouillette heads to Gettysburg reunion
The retired Presbyterian minister from Newberg now living in Portland travels with Oregon veterans to the Gettysburg anniversary. Brouillette enlisted October 15, 1861, in Company EB, 12th Illinois Cavalry, which guarded prisoners at Springfield before moving to Martinsburg and then fighting at Bunker Hill in 1862.

Beautiful Parrett Mountain Wedding Unites Salina Scherf and Irving Scherf
A home wedding at the Gottlieb Schmid residence on Parrett Mountain June 18 united Salina Scherf of Newberg and Irving Scherf in matrimony officiated by Rev. Monroe of Portland. The ceremony occurred at 11:00 a.m. in a decorated parlor with orange blossoms and Oregon grape decor. A large wedding dinner and evening luncheon followed. The couple, well known locally, received many useful and beautiful presents.

Another Comrade Gone Josiah Thomas Dies at 71
Josiah Thomas, brother of E A Thomas of Newberg, died at his Gaston home last Thursday at age 71. He was Civil War veteran of Co D 15th Iowa Volunteer Infantry and left a widow and several grown children. He was known as a kind husband with many friends in the community.
