Obituary of Elmer Aden Mills 1896 1919
Elmer Aden Mills, only son of Mr and Mrs W S Mills, born December 3 1896 in Newberg Oregon, died January 28 1919 in Brazoillers France at age 22. He joined the Army July 28 1917, served in battery B 147th Regiment 41st Division, went overseas January 1918, died of pneumonia after war duties, survived by his parents and four sisters. His funeral in Newberg drew a large crowd with military interment.

Frank Henry Caldwell born January 18 1871 near Jacksonville Oregon died June 6 1921 in Seattle Washington. He was a lifelong Democrat, served in the Oregon House in 1905 and Senate 1907 1909. He held a post on the State Board of Pharmacy for four years and belonged to several Masonic and fraternal orders. He leaves wife Margaret Ferguson two sons Kenneth Frank H and sister Dora Kotthoff.

The Berrians gathered at the cannery auditorium last Monday with an attendance estimate of 150 to 250. Ralph Butt chaired the meeting, Logan Bert Miller served as secretary, and speakers including R. J. Moore addressed the crowd. Membership rose to about 175 with sixty new members. badges reading I am a Berman were distributed. The group plans a large auto caravan to Portland for the floral parade, featuring a Loganberry themed float conceived by Butt and Miller with C. E. Dawson supervising painting and construction. Community members contributed flowers and labor to create the display.
