Newberg Plant Destroyed by Fire in Forenoon Blaze
A Newberg manufacturing plant suffered total loss from a Monday forenoon fire starting under the building. Fire companies and volunteers prevented spread to nearby structures including the cottage depot and grain elevator. The plant carried $4000 insurance, with net loss estimated at $5000 to $6000. Reorganization two weeks prior shifted ownership to Everett Heacock, N. C. Christenson, and Thomas Herd. Citizens’ cooperation will determine if rebuilding proceeds.

The Oregon Yearly Meeting of Friends Church convened in Salem with Presiding Clerk H Ed win McGrew leading the first public session at ten o clock. The devotional week began with Rev Lindley A Wells guiding worship and several visiting ministers including Rev H Ratliff of Marion Indiana Rev R S Burnett of Oklahoma and Rev Elwood Hanson among others attending. Reports outlined the general condition of the church.
