Fire Boys Elect Officers After Dinner Invite

Pacific College Inter Class Oratorical Friday Night
On Friday January 24 at 8 oclock the regular inter class oratorical contest will be held in Wood Mar hall. The winner will represent Pacific College in the state contest in Newberg on March 14. Steel rod pierces man during dam construction accident
Frank Lightfoot of The Dalles sustained a steel reinforcing rod wound when he fell from scaffolding atop the Northwestern dam. The rod pierced from below the thigh through the pelvic region and abdomen but doctors Bronson and Waugh found no vital organs after repair and he is recovering at the Hood River hospital.

Dundee Pioneer Francis Keyes Dies After Long Life
Francis T. Keyes longtime Dundee resident and early Yamhill County settler dies at about 3:30 pm. He leaves a large family across Oregon and is survived by four daughters two sons a brother and numerous grandchildren. Funeral held at Dundee church with Rev. George C. Ritchie officiating. Interment in Dundee cemetery beside wife and two children. Keyes born November 30 1830 in New York State and came west via Panama before settling in Oregon. Funeral attendees and local mentions accompany the obituary.
