Miss Emma Deskins died after a sudden heart event at her Newberg home while studying a Sunday School lesson. Her sixteen year old niece, living with her, helped arrange funeral details. Funeral services were held at the Christian church with Rev. George Ritchey officiating and interment in the Dundee family lot.
Mrs Isabel Lane and several others invite former Wisconsin residents to a reunion with a shared lunch basket program. The Young Ladies Sunday School class at Springbrook met Tuesday evening at Daisy New s home to elect officers and rename the group Truth seekers. Installed officers were Ethel Cowgill president Mabel Haworth vice president Stella Hubbard secretary and treasurer. The gathering included Mrs J H Rees teacher and several members.
The Chehalem Center and West Chehalem Chautauqua run January 26 to 29 with lectures on horticulture and dairying by Prof. Brown and Prof. Fitts at O.A.C. from 10 to 12. Free admission. Readings and talks by Dr. Dyott Geo Himes Lee Peonington and Himes on Ewing Young. Evening talks on Peace War and the New Enlightenment. Lantern lectures by C A C professors. Admission four days is 50 cents.

The W C T U will meet at the home of Maria Bowerman on January 27 at 2 PM. Members should pay dues to ease collection. A convention venue and reception for new members from last summer's contest will be discussed. The High School orchestra performs at The Sleeping Car January 29 and 30.
