The wedding of Luella Sidwell to W Smith took place Tuesday Jan 30 at the Sidwell home south of town with Rev Mitchell officiating. The couple plans to move to Portland Oregon where Smith works as an architect and a new home is nearing completion.
The Dallas High School travels to meet Newberg High School in a fast basketball showdown. It will be the season’s best contest, as Dallas previously beat the home team and looks stronger, though playing on the home floor may boost Newberg. The lineup includes N H S and D H S players in key spots.
A meeting of the Newberg Apple Growers Association heard A I Mason of Hood River discuss apple culture. He favored Yellow varieties in the Willamette valley, outlined pruning methods, and showed open center forms with wire supports. Mason cited eight year returns and a past five year profit of about 250 dollars per acre.

Farmers' Bulletin No. 442 on treatment of bee diseases is available free from the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D. C. The brood diseases do not affect honey for human consumption.
