Friday night in the college chapel featured an oratory contest with strong attendance and praise. Harry Maxfield claimed first prize and will represent the college at Monmouth in six weeks. Joseph D Fell died at his daughter Mrs L E Brower in Newberg on February 4 1908 born November 1 1832 near Columbia Warren County New York. He lived in Wisconsin Iowa and Oregon and married Jane Christie in Portage Wisconsin July 11 1859. Survived by Marion Fell Nellie Fell Bernice ONeill Edith Brower and one deceased daughter Jessie. Funeral held at Hollingsworth parlors.
