Sylvia Lynn Baker born April 2, 1892 on a farm north of Lafayette died August 14, 1917 in McMinnville at age 25. Funeral services were held at Macy’s chapel in McMinnville on August 16 and she was buried beside her mother and sister in Lafayette’s Odd Fellows cemetery. She endured ten months of illness with patience and faith seeking forgiveness and reunion with loved ones. Surviving relatives include her father C. E. Baker and brother C V. Baker of Newberg.
Wm. Wilson and kin spent Sunday in Carlton with relatives. Frank Keyes and family enjoyed trips to Canby and Pacific City. Mr. and Mrs. Hillsinger are two weeks in Dundee on Red Hills. Greenwell, Allan and others returned from a coast vacation. L. J. Eddens climbed Mt. Hood Tuesday and plans no more climbs. On Aug. 15 Red Hill neighbors gathered under the maple at Otterbrook to toast the tin wedding of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Greer with 40 guests and vows to return for golden anniversary.
