City Council Holds Two Busy Sessions
The council met in adjourned session and then again Wednesday with Mayor Calkins absent. They laid on the table an ordinance granting Pacific Telephone a 25 year franchise and approved sidewalk cost assessments across numerous streets. The Warren Construction Co. received a paving extension while budget and tax provisions were noted for September action.

Newberg G A R and W R C members are hosting a Dundee gathering at Hayward place. Visitors toured the ranch while the women sewed and prepared for an upcoming bazaar.
