Willamette Death Claims Local Boy At River Landing
A drowning tragedy occurred last Thursday when Otto Jensen eleven, son of Jens P Jensen, fell from a log into about forty feet of water at River street landing and could not be saved. His body was recovered Sunday afternoon near the same site by grappling hooks. Funeral services were held Monday at Hollingsworth parlors.

A 50 pound dynamite box exploded in Perry Warren's three room cabin at Lents killing him instantly at 10 16 Tuesday night. The blast blew the house apart and shattered nearby farmhouses. Neighbors say Warren had been drinking. authorities ruled the incident accidental after investigation. Warren’s brother Dr Ernest Warren aided by placing him on the plot near Lents after years of struggling with liquor following his wife Agnes Hume Warren’s death in 1900. The blast was heard across Portland and officials initially suspected foul play.
