Coyotes Attack Carful of Travelers Near Westport

Lester Daniels and Jesse T Irvine with families drove the Portland to Astoria loop when a prancing pack of coyotes appeared on a hill near Westport. The animals lunged at the moving car biting at luggage on the running boards while the Daniels party fired warning shots. The Irvine car ahead was not attacked. A farmer later identified the animals as wild coyotes known to occasionally behave aggressively.
