J W Berry of Newberg died by suicide in a Portland rooming house using a 32 caliber revolver. A note left behind requested telegraphic notice to Wilson Berry and described his dwindling prospects and finances before burial in his hometown.

Nancy D Swain Vickrey born May 21 1824 in Randolph County North Carolina. married to Anderson Vickrey August 20 1846. Moved 1866 to Parke County Indiana then to Oregon 1907. Survived by four children Joseph and Ed Vickrey Danville Illinois May Hannah Indianapolis Indiana and L Vickrey Lafayette Oregon. Joined Methodist church at 12 and remained a devout Christian for over 75 years. Widowed over 32 years died in Lafayette Oregon March 1 1911 at age 87.

S A Matthieu aged 93 marked his birthday at Eugene Street home with friends noting his survival from the Champoeg 1843 convention that joined Oregon to the United States. Dunbars End Lyceum Course With Notable Bells and Cellist
Last Monday evening the Dunbars closed the Lyceum course before a large audience. The program featured a highly praised cellist pupil of Steinall in Chicago, performing Pepper Tarantelle, A Love Song, and Serenade Badine. Child songs by Archer Gibson and Eugene Field drew hearty applause and the English imported bells, muffled for mellower sound, delighted the crowd. The review calls it one of the best varied entertainments and urges a future visit to ensure a full house.

Indiana bar admission for Clarence M. Brown at New Castle
W C Woodward met Clarence M Brown in New Castle Indiana last week. Brown foreman in the Graphic office and Pacific College graduate 1907 has been admitted to the Indiana bar and begins practicing law in New Castle, a manufacturing city of about ten thousand. He still speaks warmly of Oregon.

Citizens' League Endorses Mayor's Law Enforcement Efforts
The Citizens' League announces its formation to promote moral uplift and enforce laws.
