Oddly bound illuminated edition with 1859 dramatic prints
The fragment describes a timeworn illuminated edition from July 4 1859 titled the illumin ated Cao tion. It highlights engravings of Ward Beecher Horace Greeley and current events including plantation scenes and lotteries funded by Rhode Island Baptists and others. It notes poetry by Emerson and Mrs. Sigourney and includes Sunday school lesson material from 1909.
