Risks life for comrade in city market grinder accident
In Pittsburg on September 22, fourteen year old Charles Lempus halted a dangerous meat grinder by tearing down high voltage wires. Raymond Guilfoyle, fifteen, lost a hand when his arm was drawn into the electric crusher. Electricians cut the machine apart to remove the limb. Lempus escaped unharmed.

Engine Theft Charged In Pittsburg Case
James Willis a 32 year old West Virginian was arrested in Pittsburg on a larceny charge. Police say he stole a full locomotive from Parkersburg West Virginia and sold most of it piecemeal to junk dealers. Detectives say he moved the engine parts by handcar to a loading point for shipment by boat. A junk dealer was found with about 700 pounds of the engine in stock.

Five Men Almost Drowned as Steamer Strikes Launch
