Police watch railroads and ferry terminals but recover no trace of the broker's boy seen Sept 8 after a messenger delivered $870000 in bonds and left $189000 with a companion. A heavy bond appears on the youth amid the missing money and rail link questions.
Four robberies of bonds occurred in recent weeks, with suspects linked to a pattern around streets listed. The notices name Benjamin Binkowitz and others, noting bonds valued around several hundred dollars, and reference dates in September and nearby locations.
A 17 year old messenger fled yesterday afternoon with 441,000 in Liberty Wells and a 330,000 mining security bundle. Police traced the suspect, Julius Juklowski, whose escape from Levinson & Co left bonds valued at 1,098,000 unaccounted for and triggered searches of offices, bond buyers, and the National Phirs Surety Co. Goldsmith, Stern & Co the United States largest jewelry makers offered to give workers control of the factory and a share of profits to avert a strike over a 39 hour week and 25 percent raise.
