A disastrous event in Poland's Siedlce region caused widespread injuries and fatalities. Reports indicate 200 dead and 1,000 wounded in the area, with artillery demolishing multiple houses and rounds fired amid chaotic public safety conditions. Police and military personnel faced hazards and casualties.
In Warsaw a bomb wounded four and a janitor at a gas works. clashes left dozens dead or wounded as troops beat civilians and revolvers fired. In Havana President Palma suspended constitutional guarantees in Pinar del Rio Havana and Santa Clara two decrees arrest liberal leaders and marshal order amid mounting unrest.
The United States protected cruiser Des Moines under Commander Abraham E. Culver has departed Portsmouth under sealed orders for the south. The voyage follows the Maria Herrera's departure from New York with arms for Cuba, with naval officials offering no explanation. ammunition and stores were loaded at Cape Henry as a heavy sea runs tonight off the coast.
A southbound Southern Pacific Coast line train from San Francisco derailed today at Sea Cliff near Santa Barbara. The second section toppled from an embankment beside the Pacific, with the locomotive breaking loose and sliding onto the ties while the baggage car and four coaches also slid down. Twenty seven people were injured, two possibly fatally.

Governor Higgins reports a long talk with the President at Sagamore Hill and says they are in perfect accord. He declines to publish details and hints no endorsement was given for renomination. Higgins travels to New York after the conference amid questions of Hughes and Odell influence.
Governor Higgins arrived in Albany at 11 tonight and said he and President Roosevelt are acting in entire accord on the present situation. When pressed about backing, Higgins declined to add more. State Historian Hugh Hastings accompanied them from Europe.
A car struck two Far Rockaway women on Mott avenue near Sheridan Boulevard as they crossed the street. Mrs. James Quinn died at St. Joseph's Hospital from a brain concussion and internal injuries. Mrs. Michael Kane survived with lesser injuries. The hit and run vehicle fled the scene.
Francis W. Ford twenty nine year old city engineer died at Fordham Hospital after a collision on Fordham Road. He was struck behind by a car driven by Otto F Fleishman of 788 Broadway Brooklyn. Fleishman and a man named Charles Fleishman aided Ford and rushed him to the hospital. The 788 Broadway address is the Vienna Model Restaurant.
A Nome dispatch reports the loss of the whaling steamer Alexander, a vessel crewed by sailors from New Bedford, massachusetts, while operating near Nome Alaska. No further details on casualties or rescue are given in the message.

James Noot of Odessa Schuyler County was stung by a yellow jacket last night and died forty minutes later in Elmyra New York. The rest of the text promotes Dewey's Pure Grape Juice and contains an endorsement by H T Dewey & Sons Co.
