Chester Ends Endurance Test At Sea
Newport October 22 The scout cruiser Chester finished a two day endurance test off the coast in rough seas. Officers say results were satisfactory and the ship exceeded contract speed on four and twelve hour trials. Admiral McLean aboard praised guns and machinery as satisfactory and the vessel as steady in rough water maintaining 23 knots for twelve hours and 26.1 knots for four hours.
