In City of Mexico on November 19 three Mexican robbers who killed English mine manager Robert Remmet at his Zacalapan home in June 1901 were executed today. The band of twelve entered the solitary hut, found Remmet in bed, and shot him after taking his money and jewels as his wife hid the valuables.
Andrew Carnegie is rapidly recovering after being poisoned on the Continent. A London doctor reports no cause for anxiety and Carnegie will need only a few days of rest. A separate item notes the center of U S population now in Bartholomew County Indiana where a monument reading Centre of population 1900 was unveiled yesterday with a marker directing passersby to the spot.
Captain Cornelius M. Brownell admits administering the water cure to Father Augustine at Banate on December 8 and 9, 1900, which caused the priest's death.
