Conservative members across provinces offered to resign in his favor but he declined saying his Cape Breton defeat gave him the chance he wished. Also reported Chicago meat prices jump.
Chicago packers imposed a one cent per pound hike on beef pork and mutton with projected yearly gains of 339000000 based on last year’s business. Retailers faced panic as carcasses sat unsold and cuts like beef tenderloin and mutton chops jumped up to five cents.
