Crowds gathered citywide with Dr. Jacoby of Columbia noting the object at an estimated 25,000,000 miles from Earth and hundreds of Brooklyn Institute members observing through telescopes.

J Walter 1 96 W J Kelly ascended from Pittsfield this afternoon and made a dramatic 4 foot descent in three minutes landing hard on the golf course at the Country Club. The balloon rebounded into the air fifteen feet, frightening occupants but they were uninjured. The craft traveled about fifty miles in two hours and a quarter, mostly above the clouds, before Messrs Plage and Kelly returned to Worcester.

Japanese suicide in subway near 103rd Street
An unidentified Japanese man was killed after leaping in front of a northbound subway train at the 103rd street station. Three Camden Men Drowned In Cape May Launch Mishap
