READY FOR MORE RACES Jack Atkin at Belmont and beyond
The metropolitan handicap winner Jack Atkin has endured a long training cycle since his first two year old race. Despite ringbone in past season and a winter sale attempt, under Dr. McCully and trainer H. R. Brandt he thrived. He swept Carter and Queens County handicaps and remains race ready, while Restigouche faced luck and McCarter's setback. Jockey Club vice-chairman James R. Keene praised Restigouche though Superman underperformed.
