Soviet Russia Seeks Trade with United States

J. A. K. Martens, newly named Soviet ambassador, urged immediate resumption of trade and pledged $200 million in gold to back initial purchases. Washington reports wireless telephone links between the United States and France were established days before Canada Ireland tests.
