Three gaunt hungry timber wolves appeared in Ripley after crossing Lake Erie from Canada last Sunday night alarmed residents. Mothers keep children indoors as two districts suspend school and farmers chase the animals with rifles shotguns muskets revolvers and pitchforks along a gulch extending three miles from the lake to nearby hills.
