Hanna Sues C W Morse Over Bank Notes

Charles A. Hanna as receiver for the National Bank of North America filed in the Supreme Court a suit seeking 405,676.62 plus interest from Charles W. Morse. The bank says Morse used notes discounted while he presided at the bank for his own benefit, with makers such as Calvin Austin Wesley M. Oler and James T. Morse. It alleges seven of eight actions involve Morse procuring discounts, that loans were charged to others’ accounts, and that proceeds were for Morse’s use. Damages include specific notes with various makers and unpaid balances, with judgments sought for amounts and interest. The case cites related claims and notes from 1906 to 1907 and connections to other Morse business interests.
