Sothern Stars in Crime and Punishment Drama at Lyric
The Lyric Theatre staged Laurence Irving's Rodion Raskolnikoff in Crime and Punishment with Mr. Sothern delivering a tense study of a half crazed zealot. The critics note slow action and melodramatic overtones but praise Sothern's range in the interrogatory scene and the supporting cast, while calling the play largely unambitious and marred by implausible incidents.
