Fall 17 stories in elevator shaft fatal near miss
John Brunnen a 26 year old marble helper living on Hudson Street was severely injured after falling seventeen stories from an elevator shaft during construction on the Municipal Building. He broke both legs and was taken to Hudson Street Hospital as authorities believe a trip over a rope or scaffold near the shaft caused the plunge.
