Healer Found Guilty for Not Calling Doctor in Girl's Death
In a crowded courtroom, Clarence W. Byrne, a salesman of 2717 West 11th Street, was found guilty of wilfully refusing to summon a medical practitioner for his six year old daughter Violet who died of broncho pneumonia. The coroner and physicians testified the child would likely have survived with proper medical care. Byrne, a seven year Christian Scientist healer, used prayer and absent treatment with Doctor Roberts, claiming he treated the child in his own fashion. Sentencing set for July 13 with counsel John B. Stanchfield to appear.

Estate to wrong heir shocks court ruling
Pittsburg June 27. David G. Wilson a Leetsdale bachelor died in February 1906 and his brother Robert K. Wilson found a codicil indicating the estate of 250000 should go to their cousin and housekeeper Miss Mary M. Baird. She had sold coins worth more than 8500 to a Philadelphia dealer. Judge Miller ruled the estate was left to Robert, not Miss Baird, and coins improperly sold must be restored. Robert Wilson says Miss Baird may keep the estate.
