The Rev. Sunny Suvivam, president of Fort Dodge, Iowa, was discovered dead in a bathtub at the Earl Apartment No 108 Waverley Place. A physician ruled apoplexy as the cause. Suvivam had registered at the hotel that morning en route to Europe with two trunks and two suitcases addressed to Cunard Line pier. Hotel staff noticed water dripping from the fourth floor and found the priest in the tub. Calls for help were made and the body was calm when examined.
The American Medical Association session hears President John B Murphy blame public ignorance and the medical profession for quack healing. He urges medical instruction in cities and lay press sub committees to provide authoritative reports to the public. Patent medicines and quack ads are labeled primary public instructors.
The census shows Australia’s population roughly 4.7058 million, slightly under New York City by about half a year. The Commonwealth includes New South Wales Queensland South Australia Western Australia and Tasmania with a total near 3.772 million.

Arthur Smith a Harvard College senior, son of David Smith of Salt Lake, was found dead in Perkins Hall closet from cyanide ingestion after failing to qualify for a degree. An aunt said he showed no signs of despondency when leaving her home earlier. His classmates are set to receive degrees tomorrow.
Wives and mothers urged action to curb late hours as clubs in Pittsburg bar service after 1 a m. Police Superintendent McQuaide issued the order last night and promised strict enforcement in the near and distant future.
Washington June 27 Senator Borah and Senator Martine clashed over Martine’s claim that Borah called him a farmer. Martine said he had farmed in New Jersey until three years ago. Borah countered that Martine’s farming ended when a town grew and he became a landlord. Senator Gallinger closed the exchange by noting a straw vote likely elected Martine.
