Richard Meyers a 28 year old Manhattan driver at 809 Columbus Ave gave his life to shield a woman Mrs Spero and a baby in Tremont Ave near Boston Road last night. The horse frightened by an automobile charged the crowd striking Meyers and trampling him as the wagon wheels passed over him. Patrolman Barnecott stopped the horse after dragging it fifty feet. Father Parks of St. Thomas's Church witnessed the tragedy and aided Meyers after he fell. An advertisement for Seaboard Air Line Railway follows.
