Brockton July 2. C G Eaton an engineer at the Preston B Keith factory waded through boiling water to bank fires under the boilers and opened steam valves to prevent a blast. He was severely burned about the feet as he acted to save about five hundred workers inside the burning engine room. An iron pipe to a boiler had a large hole causing the steam flood.

July 23 Binghamton New York laborers rescue eleven bodies from ruins of the Hinghamton Clothing Company's over all factory in Wall Street. Forewoman Miss Nellie Connor led girls to safety crying it is all right if you hurry before perishing herself. Reed B Freeman, president of the company, praised her bravery.
