No Place for Culprits In Quarantined Children Homes
Contagious disease outbreaks have forced judges to discharge many children from the Children's Court as homes and institutions grow crowded or under quarantine. Several facilities including American Female Guardian Society, Five Points Home, and Mission of the Immaculate Virgin are quarantine sites. Only children with improper guardians can be sent to quarantine homes, while those convicted go to other institutions. No figures on quarantined numbers or duration. Some facilities have vacancies. others are fully occupied or not suitable for non offenders. Commissioner Darlington notes fewer contagious disease cases than a year ago.
