Charles Van Loan sporting writer and author was badly hurt in an automobile crash on the San Bernardino sky grade. Jade Bruckman of The Los Angeles Times was seriously injured. Van Loan suffered a broken jaw and severe injuries with internal damage. surgeons performed a delicate operation to separate two bodies joined in the lunar region.
