Harlem Fire Strikes Piering Moody Blaze Forces Evictions

Fatality on Battleship Nebraska Dynamos Blast

In Charlestown Navy Yard drydock battleship Nebraska a steam valve ruptured in the dynamo room fatally scalding ordinary seaman Henry A. Agena who died at U S Naval Hospital and injuring first class electrician James Leary who tried to rescue him. Agena was in a corner away from the exit when the valve blew. Leary escaped then returned to aid Agena and was hurt attempting a rescue.

Muldoon Folk Save Home in Purchase Fire

William Arnacen led a volunteer company to defend the William H. Clinchey estate in Purchase from a blaze started by a farmhand. Three barns burned, property loss 10000 dollars, but the Muldoon force saved the Clinchey home. Miss Isabelle Clinchey and two aunts survived. Clinchey was a former New York police captain.
