Fire Kills 25 Horses in Brooklyn Stable Blaze
A three story brick stable at 594 Pacific Street Brooklyn owned by F W Salt & Sons burned early today destroying 25 horses and injuring two men who tried to rescue them. Watchman George Newman and John Kane suffered burns while aiding firefighters as about 40 horses were saved. The fire was reported around 2 am spreading through the ground floor to an extended rear section near McDermott Dairy. Four alarms were sounded and damages placed at about 50 000 dollars.

Car Nearly Off Bridge On Passaic River Route

Bridge traffic halted after train equipment failure
Traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge and connecting lines was stopped for over 30 minutes. A Sea Beach line work truck being removed for repairs broke down at Sands Street.
