Bandits Hold Up Central Plant and Bank in City Run

A dramatic daylight robbery at the Central plant at 208 One Feeni street ended in a high speed chase through busy city streets. Four bandits escaped with about 34 000 in money and checks after forcing a pop-up delivery from George Schneider and Washing ela Mrauer and robbing the Second National Bank on Tift Avenue. Police pursued across Second and Twenty-ninth streets, firing at the gang as they fled. The car carrying the bandits was last seen near Twenty-seventh and Cast aumen, with authorities hoping to recover the stolen funds.

Girl and boy saved from drowning at Jersey City jetty

A 14 year old girl unable to swim dived after a boy who fell from a jetty at Eight Street. Mrs Delia McDonald and Anna McDonald, with Mrs Genovese and Cecilia, rescued the youngsters as Thomas McDonald, aged about four, was pulled from the water. Mrs Genovese, though not a swimmer, aided until Thomas revived. both were taken to the hospital for care.
