Third days work of the convention
Beaver, July 8. Scarcely a hundred delegates were in place at 11 a.m. for the long session. The permanent organization report was ready since Tuesday night, with delays for credentials. A cowboy band played patriotic tunes as Chairman Bell struggled with the gavel and the crowd grew louder. Mr. Clayton was introduced amid cheers as three red white and blue dressed girls presented roses. Clayton’s remarks attacked the Republican party, praised Democratic ideals, and urged voters toward a Democratic victory in 1904 with Roosevelt and Taft cast as a paired administration.

Democratic year marks convention with Clayton address
The convention applauded as Mr Clayton praised Democratic unity while skipping Roosevelt's trust regulation message. He appeared fatigued yet continued to speak with rapid closings. Raymond Robins and George W Littleton spoke briefly to lively reception. Members prepared to report the resolutions committee by 7 p.m. A recess was taken after Sen Grady moved it.
