Morse offers par payment to depositors of National Bank of Northmerica

Morse announced that his plan to pay depositors at par is meeting a warm response and that payments proceed as checks are prepared. He met with depositors at his office to explain surrender of receipts, with two cash dividends already paid. The Carnegie Trust Company handles the unpaid claim, while the Assets Relation Company of Philadelphia provides cash via the Ton company. About 1.2549 million of 3 million dollars were available when the bank suspended last January, with only a fraction of female depositors responding. Major depositors hesitate due to potential 9-12 months loss from 6 percent interest. Morse says interest is not included.
