Guffey Re-elected to Stay on Democratic National Committee

From Pittsburgh to the national scene the Pittsburgh Colonel M Guffey is re elected as a Democratic National Committee member from Pennsylvania amid contested delegations. The Kerr faction clashed with Guffey supporters in Philadelphia as the meeting opened with motions to postpone. In DC the Cloughton wing won four votes to Kerr's two while Roger Sullivan was re elected Illinois national committeeman despite health concerns and Bryan opposition. An Illinois delegate warned Bryan’s influence could spark a party split and planned to counter Sullivan with Murphy, while Ohio faced strongest challenge from Johnson men in the 9th and 19th districts. Continuous political maneuvering marked the proceedings.
