Senate votes on ship bill as records fall with flood of onlookers at the Capitol. A massive audience gathers during a long session, delaying adjournment with continuous attention to the debate and vote.
The Senate endured a long Senate session as Smoot spoke through the night. Democratic leaders pressed a filibustered bill amid attacks on Wilson and hearings on a ship purchase, with a temporary truce until Monday morning.
Alfred Maxwell of 102 West 4th Street spotted Emile Shubert leaving a Burglary at the Raicerbocker Hotel. Shubert claimed he planned the theft as a solution to unemployment and confessed after police at the Westweb station questioned him.

Smoke found in elevator shaft at John D. Rockefeller Jr. residence 1 West 4th Street yesterday afternoon. Defective insulation is suspected to have caused the blaze.
