Veiled Faces in Arcadian Academy Election Mystery
A 1906 article notes Monsignor George Mundelein being elected as the academy's only American member of the Roman Academy of Arcadia. Founded in Rome in 16% by Crescimbeni, it counts popes and nobles among its members. To avoid disputes, members appear masked and are known by Arcadian shepherds' noms.

Count Rudolph Festetics Contemplates Ill-Starred Alliance in New York
Rudolph Festetics, divorced husband of Miss Eis Haggin and poised to wed Mrs. Alice Wetherbee, is described as the son of the late Count Sigmund Festetics and a Princess de la Tour d'Auvergne. The true mother is Mile Laura de Vilna, and his status with Austrian and Hungarian aristocracy is complicated by a suspected mesalliance. He spends much time abroad with a Paris-based mother, and is only distantly related to Tassilo Festetics, head of the family. Tassilo is married to Lady Mary Hamilton, whose prior marriage to the Prince of Monaco was annulled for coercion. The Lincoln of the tale centers on an aristocratic lineage clouded by disputed titles and dynastic legitimacy.
