Bertha Gretsch, 23, of 42 Sidney Street, Hrookton, will receive half of the late Jacob Hyman estate estimated around 50,000. Hyman, a retired Broadway jeweller and clothier, died of cancer in Jewish Hospital at 73. He mentored Hertha during fishing trips and was known for charitable work.
Mania reports General Noriel the insurgent leader and two accomplices were hanged this morning for killing a political enemy at a 1903 cockfight. The execution followed a long fight to delay, with army orders to prevent disorder and a stay of execution for one native Cavite leader until yesterday.
