Captain T. Torgerson and sixteen crew members of the Norwegian bark Minden were landed in Liverpool by the Spanish steamer Francisca after the vessel was abandoned on January 16 in the North Atlantic. The Minden, built in 1879 at Hantsport and owned by C. B. Hofgaard, had sailed from Mobile for Liverpool via New York and Pensacola after taking on a leak off Hatteras. The Francisca departed Pensacola January 6 and carried the Minden’s crew back to safety.
