Washington reports the Littlefield sub committee has drafted an anti trust bill with White House backing. It will face minority review, then Judiciary Committee approval, and rules to fast track in the House. Delegates seek a compromise on Statehood and a sequel on Cuba treaty deadlines.
Washington Jan 20 Two new anti trust bills will appear in the Senate soon with three committees to share responsibility. A compromise on the hood bill may be proposed to speed major legislation, while anti trust measures compete with the Cuban treaty for attention. Committees of Hoar Elkins and Fairbanks push to draft bills, and the House Commerce plan prompts Senate action on corporate regulation. Albany January 20 Thomas C Platt won a majority in both Senate and Assembly for United States Senator though final election awaits reading of today's journals. Elihu Root and John B Stanchfield received minority votes. The session featured sharp speeches with Brackett Brown Elsberg and others criticizing Platts bid and a potential militia intervention was discussed by Wolcott supporters.
Alderman Seebeck won approval to allow Manhattan's Lincoln Republican Club to fire 100 guns in City Hall Park to honor Thomas C. Platt's re election to the U S Senate. The plan targets 1 to 2 pm today and followed motions by McCall and McInnes.
Denver January 20 Both houses of the General Assembly balloted for United States Senator at noon with Henry M Teller receiving fifty votes one short of election Democrats abstained and Republican Senators wavering amid a split convention scene as Farwell was chosen president pro tempore and a “regular Senate” faction reappeared in the Capitol corridors.

Pierre South Dakota January 20 A B Kittredge was reelected to the United States Senate today with the combined house vote totaling 110 for Kittredge the Republican and 13 for Bowler the Democrat in the same session
In a separate afternoon session the legislature reelected H C Hansbrough as United States Senator. He received the unanimous vote of the Republican members in both houses.
In Indianapolis the House and Senate each reelected United States Senator Fairbanks with no opposition. The joint session will ratify the vote tomorrow. Booth Tarkington gave the nominating speech in the House. Democrats, outnumbered two to one, supported B. F. Shively of South Bend.
Jefferson City Mo Jan 29 Ex Governor William Joel Stone won a majority of votes in both houses to succeed Senator Vest Richard C Kerens led the Republican vote as the party bloc backed him in the contest for the U S Senate seat.
Representative Albert J. Hopkins was chosen United States Senator to replace William E. Mason. The Senate vote stood Hopkins 35 to 15 for Williams, while the House tally was Hopkins 88 Williams 62 Woolley 22 and two not voting.
In Little Rock on January 20 and noon, the Senate backed James P. Clarke with 19 votes to James K. Jones 14, and the House gave Clarke 58 to Jones 36 with 2 for H L Remmel Rep. Clarke has 77 joint ballot votes, more than required, and a joint session tomorrow will ratify Clarke’s election as United States Senator succeeding James K. Jones.
