Observing the eclipse at Flint Island by American scientists
Observation of the December 3 solar eclipse at Flint Island by American scientists headed by W W Campbell was partly hindered by rain. Rain cleared in the first half of totality and weather was clear in the last half. Instruments were wet yet functioned well and the results were excellent. Samoan observers using a bolometer measured corona heat with gratifying success. Corona form resembled that seen in India in 1898.
